The Euro Millions Lottery is a European wide lotto game that
commenced operating on Saturday, 7 Feb 2004, by the Camelot Group
plc, a UK lottery industry company.
On Friday, 13 Feb 2004
the first draw took place in Paris. Initially the
national lotteries of the UK, France and Spain were the first
countries to take part. In October 2004 lotteries from
Austria, Belgium, Ireland, Luxembourg, Portugal and Switzerland also
joined the draw.
Draws are held every Friday at 8pm GMT in Paris. Tickets
generally cost the equivalent of €2 per play rounded to the nearest
10cent. The prize fund is determined according to the level of
playing participation per country.
How to play
Select 5 principal
numbers which can be any numeral from 1 to 50
Select 2 "lucky star numbers" which can be any digit from 1 to 9
During the draw, 5 principal and 2 "lucky star numbers" are then
drawn at random from two draw machines containing balls numbered 1
to 50. The draw machine containing 50 balls is called
Stresa, while the one with nine balls numbered 1 to 9 is called
Paquerette.
